Summer Updates at AFRO: New Space, New Faces, and Continued Growth
AFRO is excited to share some amazing updates as we continue to grow and strengthen our support for Black families and the community. Our Black Mental Health Program has a new home for the summer program at 65 Hanson Ave, The Family Centre. This welcoming space will allow us to continue creating a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where community members can connect, share, and focus on mental wellness.
We are also happy to welcome a new volunteer to the AFRO team, Taavi, a middle school student who is passionate about making a difference and giving back to the community. Taavi’s willingness to get involved and support positive change is a great example of how young people can play an important role in building stronger communities.
Things in the AFRO office have also been going well as we continue working behind the scenes to improve our programs, organize upcoming initiatives, and create more opportunities for community engagement. We are grateful for the continued support from our volunteers, partners, and community members who help make AFRO’s work possible.
As we move forward into the summer, we look forward to welcoming everyone into our new space and continuing our mission of supporting, empowering, and uplifting Black families across the community.
