On August 28, 2026, the African Family Revival Organization (AFRO) was grateful to receive a generous donation of backpacks from the Waterloo Regional Police Service to support the youth and families in our community.

As families prepare for the beginning of a new school year, having the right school supplies can make a meaningful difference. These backpacks will help ensure that our youth are better prepared to return to school feeling confident, excited, and ready to learn.

This contribution is incredibly impactful and helpful to AFRO and the families we serve. For many families, preparing children for a new school year can come with additional expenses and challenges. Support like this helps ease some of that pressure while ensuring that young people have access to essential items they need for school.

At AFRO, we believe that supporting youth also means creating a community where they feel valued, encouraged, and cared for. Partnerships and acts of generosity like this allow us to continue providing meaningful support to children, youth, and families throughout the Waterloo Region.
